The objectives of the program are aligned with Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, and the University, and are as follows:
- To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of community health care, including disease prevention, health promotion, and the management of common community health care diseases.
- To equip students with the skills necessary to conduct research in community health care, including competency in the conduct of research methodologies in community health care settings.
- To promote interdisciplinary collaboration in community health care, so that students can work effectively in teams with health care providers from various disciplines.
- To provide students with opportunities to engage in knowledge exchange and partnership with the community, so that they can understand the needs of the community and develop interventions to address those needs.
- To equip students with teaching and learning experience, preparing them to become effective educators and leaders in the field of community health care.
